A portable homage to the game we all have played.
In honor to the developer, it should go a little disclaimer here: this game isn't Valve's Counter Strike version to Android. It's something created from scratch. Anyway, it will do the work.
Critical Strike is exactly what you can expect. It's an online multiplayer FPS where players are split into two teams to kill each other. One team plays as the terrorists and the other as the cops, as when we played Cowboys and Indians when we were children. The only slight difference is that instead of fingers and "bang bang! you're dead, no I'm not" players use modern warfare such as M16s, AK47s and Desert Eagles. Oh, there are grenades, too. And knives.
Game can be played alone or with friends, and you can choose among three game modes. Graphics are what they should and sound effects are plainly adequate. The trickier part of a game like this, namely, the controls, has been solved quite smartly: use the d-pad to move, drag the screen to look around and tap the icon on the right to shoot. Touch response is, to be honest, very good. Buttons are customizable, so they can be smaller of larger if you need so. Likewise, grenade and other secondary buttons can be hidden or shown as needed. Same goes for radar and other stuff, you can go to menu options and play for a while with what's there. This doesn't mean that you can bring all your CS wisdom and experience, at least not all of it. Playing the game on a mobile device requires an adjustment period, and you will feel clumsy, slow and, in short, as a noob again. Be warned.
Talking about options, settings are also customizable, from gravity to bots number and handicap. It's appreciated that next to every option it's indicated whether it helps performance or not, so you can play in a low-end device just by giving up some textures or esthetic stuff. However, although the physics engine does its best you will sometimes find oddities as walking on water or Minecraft-like textures.
Therefore, let's see: game's free, without ads. It's born from passion of a single developer and it's an absolutely enjoyable game. In short, if you weren't already into FPSs it's unlikely you are reading this, so I assume that you, my dear reader, were looking for something very specific and I can tell you that yes, here's what you were looking for. A 5/5 to award a great and altruistic work.
