Graphically it has been enhanced, it's manga-based graphics are still attractive and the effects in HD are a step forward. Actually there are way more power-ups, effect-boosting and stunning attack effects. Controls based on a screenpad are quite intuitive.

However, what has really improved the game is the chance to tackle asynchronous online PvP with the new 2-on-2 arena battles. It even allows you to hire other player data as mercenaries. That will help you to achieve quests and beat hordes of enemies. The Execution Room and the classic 1-on-1 remains.

A great boxing arcade game.

First at all, I have to tell you that Punch Hero, just for its very own nature, automatically points out my weakness for anything that resembles, even distantly, NES Punch Out. In addition, it has that look so fiery and awesomely similar to that game that Bart and Homer played in that extremely famous The Simpsons' chapter. Therefore, Gamevil's Punch Hero comes with the best possible references.

Gameplay is easy, tap left or right to throw a jab with either fist; slide left or rightwards to hit your foe with a hook; and draw a diagonal to attack with the fearsome uppercut. Block tapping left and right at once and dodge thanks to the dodge buttons. It isn't strictly a boxing simulator but a pretty brute arcade instead, but it does its job pretty well and fights are exciting and thrilling, with chances for both boxers to overcome a fight that seems lost. Three rounds, three, on the ring. Focus, cold blood and wits will be your best allies till you get enough experience punch hero cheats.

By experience, we not only meant hours of gameplay, but also experience points and coins. Former are used to improve your prowess and health, latter can be spent in character customization and vanity items. There's a -oh, surprise- in-app purchase to acquire premium items, though this game is otherwise free to play. Don't forget to check the special moves, which can only be played when your rage-meter is full and punch hero hack.

Although character mode is fun enough to be enjoyed by a long while, you can play a more casual game mode coming to blows with a horde of zombies (waiter, there's a zombie in my soup...) or daring to enter the online mode and face friends and anonymous players alike. Lastly, if you tap on Challenger Registry you can use your friends' face or yours (as taken from Facebook) as your character's face on the ring.

In conclusion, a great boxing game. We missed more fantasy moves and more footwork, but it's a great game anyway, recommended to both usual players of games of this kind and those who want to initiate themselves into. If I may, I'd like to suggest a new game based on Kickboxing/Muay Thai/Savate/you name it, because I really enjoyed this Punch Hero but I felt like I'd like much if it were more assorted. And let girls fight, too!

OK, there was a zombie outbreak and 365 Mb later you have to face the damned apocalypse within the span of your nose. Zombies is a complete twist from Contract Killer. Instead of hunting down criminals, you must save what's left of humanity by surviving in a plagued city. Shoot down zombies at the same time that you protect civilians. These will be often a burden and sometimes a help.

Additional points (and ammo save) can be obtained aiming for the classic and shooting at their forefronts. Link deaths in a string to make combos and gather every weapon you find here and there. Have in mind that if you don't use in-app purchases you'll always be a step behind the weapons needed -or at least recommended. Well, you may not buy anything and enjoy this ad-free awesome game for free, but expect an increasing overwhelming difficulty.

Although touch screen response and gameplay can be slightly improved, game's performance is awesome. There's even something we could call a plot and Evelyn, your sidekick, is quite...charismatic. We may ask for some kind of leaderboard or even -that will be achieve excellence- cooperative play.

This is the gore version of Contract Killer: Zombies. There's a softer one, though, without brains staining your screen.

A fantasy MMO

In short, Brave Frontier is a MMO mixing usual softcore management (raise buildings, spend resources) with Final Fantasy-like battles and combat moves.

You have to collect the more characters the better. Not only to engross your muster of super-deformed big-headed heroes (chibis for the win), but also because you sacrifice those you don't want to empower your better cards. This, as nearly other feature this game can bring, isn't really original and can be found in nearly other game in the genre, but well, it's OK if you're into it.

Battles are quite spectacular, but you have little if any control over them. Characters execute flashy moves with redundant and bombastic names, but combat results are quite solved beforehand. In a similar way, quests go on till stats says otherwise. The game runs based on both an in-game Brave Frontier hack also,
and premium currency, plus an energy bar, so it's likely you spend a few minutes every some hours on it once you beat the long tutorial beginnings.

In the end, a very recommendable game if you are looking for a MMO, although it's unlikely you're interested in if you're already playing another.

Drive bad and crash worse

Flatout lies somewhere physics games and driving games. Although it can hardly be considered a real driving game, you must drive, at least far enough as to get enough momentum. In case you didn't know, Flatout is about crashes and, even worse, to inflict the more possible damage to driver. You start with your car and can drive it as if this were a "normal" driving game, tilting the phone to steer and tapping on the accelerator to go faster. However you won't go too far, as tracks are very short and your goal is to find the spot to crash, preferably next to a cliff.

Once you crash into a fence or whatever and your driver jumps through the windshield, you can select the trajectory angle and to blow your car up. Just later, when your driver floats on the air, you can tilt your phone to try to redirect him or her to wherever more harm is inflicted. Ghoulish? Yes.

Although we have seen better examples elsewhere, Flatout's ragdoll physics are good, though not real at all, and graphics are far above average. Once you run out of free levels, know that you can unlock more levels, cars and characters through a convenient in-app purchase, though we should recommend to insistently check once and over the game because it's technically too demanding and forceclosing issues have been detected.

A modern take on pulp sci-fi and gamebooks

Out there follows the usual premises of gamebooks, or choice-you-own adventure, no matter how you call them. However, your choices aren't limited to choosing this or that path, as you have also to manage your ship and its upgrades, gather hints to decrypt alien languages and explore and probe planets you come by.

This game is vast and throughout all of it you will feel like, well, like an astronaut lost in an unknown galaxy, where every single choice can save your life (especially true if you're running our of oxygen) or throw yourself into a cold and quiet death. As many of the non-key elements ('triggers') are randomly generated, replayability is assured since the very first (of many, we hope) replay.

On the other hand, the lack of animated cutscenes and the poor quality of the current animations, regardless of how much of gamebooks can be found here; and the fact it's only translated to Alien, French and English and it'd hard to enjoy the game if you can't read fluently one or another.

Anyways, suited for teens and grownups and anyone knowledgeable about how the biggest adventures start by opening the cover of a book...or tapping on an icon on the desktop.

Sprint, jump, and dodge through smoky battlefields in an Earth VS Mars-themed endless runner

Take one part history, two parts space invaders, a good dash of lightning reflexes, a heaping helping of of smoke and explosions, and add heroism to taste. Sprint, jump, and dodge til it starts to smell a lot like napalm in the morning. No way to stick a toothpick into TheSecretLocation's The Great Martian War and have it come out anything less than besmirched with gunpowder and alien guts.

Fearless soldier Gus Lafonde sprints through the fields and trenches at your command, swerving round tanks and sliding beneath towering alien menaces in exceedingly close calls. Constantly falling artillery makes it seem like the world's on fire; avoid the attacks and pick up rations and living metal alien tech on your way.

The well-rendered 3D levels are randomly generated, so it's a new experience every time you hit the ground running. Constantly updated challenges plus WWI-themed power-ups keep gameplay fresh.

The near-constant blasts add realism, but are also the one complaint I have. The levels seem to be off such that the peaks of the effect get cut, causing a strange audio effect.

TheSecretLocation's The Great Martian War is an alien blast from the past.

A 2D native mobile game

Much water has flowed under the bridge since Karate Champ and Yie Ar Kung Fu, but every season new trout swim down and new salmon go upriver in the never-ending cycle of arcade fighting video gaming.

Hyperkani's UCF is one of those games we have to pay careful attention to. Graphics and animations are far from fulfilling your expectations, as the former are plain and the latter are plainer, quite literally. Sound is muteable, and gameplay is rough and uncomfortable.

However, there's a faint glimmer of hope here. Moves are performed through on-screen gestures, meaning that here we have a true nature mobile fighting game that could show a way forward for street and king fighters. Although this game doesn't allow combos at all, it's easy to foresee how mobile fighting games will be in the near future: it's as easy as drawing a path recreating the moves (i.e. Z for shoryuken). As soon as you can chain them as if it were a Swype keyboard, we can bet that the next big 2D fighting game will be mobile. Making use of the accelerometer would be great, too.

In any case, a game recommendable for reviewers, critics and hardcore old school historian fighting gamers. The rest can look elsewhere for something a little bit more playable.
